What we never ask for
Your app code, your recovery kit, or any photo, video or file from your library. Nobody here can open your library, reset your code or recover your kit, so there is never a reason to send them. If a message that claims to be from us asks for them, don't answer it.
I lost my iPhone
On the new iPhone, install WeatherVault and tap Restore Library on the first screen.
To put a library back you need its recovery kit, and either an archive file of it or its backup in iCloud, with this iPhone signed in to the Apple Account it was backed up in. Nothing else — no purchase, and nothing from the iPhone it came from.
Without the recovery kit, nobody can open the backup or the archive: not Apple, and not us.
I forgot my app code
Nobody can reset an app code or look it up. If you have the library's recovery kit and an archive or iCloud backup of it, tap Restore Library on the first screen: it puts the library back and you choose a new app code.
A lost app code and a lost recovery kit together mean nobody can open the library.
I lost my recovery kit
If the library still opens with your app code, go to Settings, then Recovery Kit under Security & Recovery. Show Recovery Kit shows the saved kit again after you type your app code, and Create New Kit makes a new one.
Anyone who has this kit can open this library. Keep it where you keep passports and bank details, not in a message or an email to yourself.
Pro
WeatherVault Pro is $19.99 a year through the App Store: as many items as you want, and one separate second library. There is no monthly plan and no free trial.
On a new iPhone, or after reinstalling, Restore Purchases in Settings picks up a subscription you already have. To cancel, use Manage Subscription in Settings, or your Apple Account's subscriptions in your iPhone's Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and Pro keeps working until the end of the year you paid for.
If Pro ends, nothing is deleted and nothing is locked. Everything you already saved stays open. The only thing that stops is adding new items beyond your 50 free ones.
Refunds are Apple's to give: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Weather
Weather is free and needs no purchase. Opening Weather locks the library. Forecasts can be wrong. Don't rely on them in an emergency.
